Dearest Glossybox (Canada)- it's time for a Makeup Breakup.
It's not me....it's you. Everything started off just rosey- with those lovely pink boxes that had the latest "treasures" of cosmetics every month.
As time went on I was content with how things were going, but it seemed that come summer your eyes were wandering and more adoring towards bloggers who got their boxes sooner and with better items.
That somewhat saddened me, but we (customers) gave you a second chance.
Then came fall and winter and obviously your focus and interests changed-before you used to like to show and send high end premium items and now you just shower me with "bargin bin" discontinued items.
The last straw came over the holidays in December- instead of being fun and festive, you were deceitful and untruthful and that is not something to tolerate in a (business) relationship.
Sending me old and expired harmful items? is that the way to celebrate a holiday....I think not!
You said "I'll make it up to you in the new year...." and I believed you. But then instead of keeping your promises, you went and sent me more old expired items....how sad that you do not care for the safety of your customers!
On top of this, when you found out I was breaking up with you- blocking me from making any comments on Facebook is quite a low blow- if you can call it that.
So fortunately it has finally come to this A MAKEUP BREAKUP.
Maybe in the future you will learn to appreciate your customers and their safety when it comes to cosmetics.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took me quite a while in deciding to write this "letter".
But I figured trying to be somewhat funny is the best I can do with this situation.
If "Glossybox Canada" were a real person, the way they have been treating customers lately would be the equivalent of a abusive relationship.
And no one should have to suffer with lies about expired cosmetics that gave people eye and lip rashes.
What else would you do to someone how was continuously deceitful and harmful towards you??

Colorescience Genie Colore review In My Pink Cadilac!
I just bought the Colorescience Genie Colore eye color a few weeks ago and have been using this a few times a week and liking the results so far.
Genie Colore is a mineral eye makeup and you can make it as dramatic or subtle as you wish.
The bottle is really cute, and what is great is that the applicator is like the liquid eye liners and has a tip to help you apply this without any extra brushes.
The colore In My Pink Cadilac is actually a much lighter pink that in the pictures and it makes a great tool to "wake up your eyes" if you had a long day.
The staying power of this eye powder is good do and it did not fade all day.
Another good thing is that the amount you get is 4x more than Bare Minerals brand.
BM brand you usually get .5 of a gram, while Genie Colore you get a whole 2 grams.
Genie Colore also has a lot of fun shades, while BM has a more "natural" look.
If you get this from SkincareRx they often have sales on this line as well!
I'm going to try more of this line in the future and also find the sunscreen powders by Colorescience are great!

My Pretty Pink Box! May 2010 review.

If you are not yet familiar with My Little Pink Box, it is a monthly surprize package of new and upcoming cosmetics companies.
This is a fun way to treat yourself to some brands you may not have heard of and also some items you have always wanted to try.
The companies that participate can be anything from handmade smaller companies to some very big brands.
You usually get around 6-8 items with at least two being full size products.
Here is what I received for the May 2010 version of www.myprettypinkbox.com
Nissim shampoo and conditioner sachet (10ml each)
Avon Moisture Therapy hand cream (45ml)
Lost River Rags & Candlelights small duck goats milk soap (melon ginseng scent, from a small Etsy store)
Moi Minerals eyeshadow sample (comes in a small ziptop packet, they are a small Canadian company!)
Nyx eyeshadow base in Pearl (always wanted to try out this item).
DermaPro Skincare- quite a few sachets of product (Gel Tox 3x 3ml sachet, Ion Mask 2x 5ml,Pineapple Cleansing Scrub 5ml x2).
Overall I am happy with this box and there are quite a few neat products to try.
Shipping to Canada seems to take exactly 4 weeks.
The boxes seem to sell for around $10, plus $5 shipping.
My Pretty Pink Box is run by a lady named Linda and it is a small company for now.
The boxes go on sale monthly and sell out quite quickly.
I think this would make a fun surprize gift for a friend or a nice treat for yourself.
